How much do custom blinds, shades and shutters cost?

It depends on the product and the window. National cost data puts custom blinds at about $45 to $250 per window, motorized shades at $350 to $1,000, and plantation shutters at $150 to $800 installed. At your free consultation, we measure every window and give you a written quote, room by room.

What are the best window treatments for Florida heat and humidity?

For sun-facing windows, plantation shutters, cellular shades and solar shades block the most heat. In bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms, choose moisture-proof materials like composite shutters or faux wood blinds, because real wood can warp with daily steam. We’ll recommend a material for every room.

Are plantation shutters worth it in Florida?

In most homes, yes, on sun-facing windows in rooms you’ll keep for years. Shutters block direct sun, don’t fade or fray, and outlast several sets of blinds. On a small window you rarely touch, a good shade does the same job for less.

Do motorized shades work during a power outage?

Battery-powered shades keep working with the remote. Hardwired shades stop until the power comes back, and app and voice control need Wi-Fi. In most existing Central Florida homes, battery motors are the better choice: no electrician needed, and your shades still work during storm season.
